The TDG Greening Program

The Donaldson Group is committed to sustainable business practices in the property and construction management industry.  Our Greening Program promotes environmental awareness and conservation at our communities and supports area-wide endeavors to reduce, recycle and reuse resources.

What are we doing to "Green" The Donaldson Group?

• We actively encourage energy efficiency from our residents as well as our offices. Operation Green Light, a program to distribute CFL bulbs and to educate our residents on energy and water conservation, is the first of those initiatives. As a result of Operation Green Light, The Donaldson Group has garnered national recognition as a leader in the "Green" movement for multi-family housing property management. We have a feature in Multifamily Vendor, a national online magazine; please see their Multifamily Advisor "Going Green" Newsletter (p. 4-5) which discusses our Operation Green Light Program and its impact on our apartment homes.
   
• Our Energy and Water Conservation Pamphlet gives our residents a handy guide for simple, effective tips to save energy and water in their communities.
   
• The TDG Energy Pledge has become a part of our corporate culture and is part of every new lease.
   
• Our renovation teams are partnering with local non-profit organizations to reuse appliances discarded during the rehabilitation of apartment homes.
   
• The Donaldson Group has partnered with Consolidated Green Services of Bethesda, MD, to provide LEED compliant trash stream services for all of its properties.
   
• We are working to reduce, reuse and recycle office paper.  The amount of waste in this area is astounding in the average American office and there are lots of ways that all of the TDG offices can succeed with the three Rs of paper usage. 
   
• A weekly Tuesday Tree Huggin' Tip e-mail will address things that TDG team members can do to save the environment at both work and home.

Looking to the future, we will find ways to address all manner of environmental concerns as we become proficient in greening our business one step at a time.
